To advance the understanding of interactions between food animal productivity and well-being to enable a scientific and public policy climate which promotes animal well-being and supports economically viable food animal production systems.
Goals of the Center
- Coordinate and enhance interdisciplinary research and education on food animal well-being
- Serve as the focal point of a "Virtual Center" involving other groups having a compatible mission.
- Enlarge the scientific basis for food animal well-being.
- Enhance public understanding of food animal production systems and increase the trust and confidence of the public in animal agriculture.
