Students may participate in projects involving statistical analysis, related data review and programming tasks or statistical research as it relates to veterinary medicine.

Ideal students will have completion of BS in statistics/computer science or animal science and enrolled in MS program in statistics or related field (animal breeding).

Knowledge of animal production/veterinary medicine. Knowledge of experimental design mixed linear and non-linear model methodologies, and categorical data analyses. Knowledge of data handling and statistical analysis programming in PC-SAS. Basic computer and typing skills, including use of basic MS Office software (e.g. Word, Excel). Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of individuals on multiple projects. Exceptional oral and written communication skills.


3. Student Worker Needed

This is a posting for a student worker to help with specified tasks for the Spring Semester. The work involves carrying out activities in sample collection for poultry as well as data/protocol management.

The candidate will be under direct supervision and work hours are flexible and decided on a weekly basis, with up 1-10 hours per week depending on needs and availability. The heaviest availability is expected to before the months of January and April. Responsibilities will include but not restricted to the following:

4. Washington DC Public Policy Internship

The Public Policy Internship Program structure will be the same as in the past but instead of sending five students we can only send two. One placement with be with the NASDA office.

An ideal candidate is a current sophomore or junior (seniors that will graduate in Dec 2011, are also eligible) with a minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA. Interested students should contact me regarding the program and application process. I would like to close the application process by January 31st.
