One of the cattle positions is in Indiana and one in Illinois, so my territory is being split up some.

Position Objective:
This internship will provide students an opportunity to apply knowledge gained in the classroom to a real life agronomy environment. Students will gain hands-on experience working on various projects in the agricultural agronomy and crop input area. Students will also gain exposure to working with grain producers on the farm. Responsibilities may include assisting Crop Input /Agronomists and personnel in identifying and developing customer solutions and services. Students will do agronomic crop scouting with 5000+ acres of row crops.

5. Murphy Brown Research Internship

Murphy-Brown, LLC is offering a swine research project management program for Animal Science undergraduate or recently graduated students interested in applied swine research. The objective of this program is to allow students to gain experience in the swine industry for career development. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the research data collection and participate in all on-going research projects at Murphy-Brown.

The student will be exposed to other aspects of Murphy Brown, LLC, including the packing plant, veterinary medicine, and swine production operations. At the end of the program the student will be required to give a presentation to Murphy Brown and Alltech.

6. NCBA Convention Internship

NCBA has an opportunity for students to assist with the 2013 Cattle Industry Annual Convention and NCBA Trade Show, February 4-9, 2013 in Tampa, Florida. This five-day industry event boasts over 5,500 attendees and a trade show with more than 250 booths.

Our intern positions provide a unique opportunity for students to gain first-hand experience and to interact with leaders from every segment of the cattle and beef industry.

Although this is an unpaid work experience, NCBA will provide the student’s convention registration, lodging and certain meals while in Tampa. Students are responsible for their own travel to and from Tampa, along with all incidental expenses.
