1. Indiana Horse Racing Commission Summer Internships (Fair Circuit Position)
Requirements:
- Must be 21 or older
- Commication - one must be able to communicate with all entities including Race Secretaries, Judges/Stewards, Veterinarians, and most of all, Horsemen
- Have the ability to work and travel independently
- Have the ability and abailability to trabel extensively throughout the summer
- Must be prompt, reliable, and have a strong commitment to the dates required
Duties:
- Assistance in administering the Indiana Sired Fair Circuit Drug Testing Program at Indiana's County and State Fairs. This entails:
- Obtaining and maintaining an adequate number of drug testing supplies from the Indiana Horse Racing Commission Veterinarian at Indiana Downs.
- Assisting each designated Indiana Sired Fair Circuit Veterinarian with completion of paperwork and collection of drug testing samples acquired at Indiana Sired Fair Circuit host sites.
- Maintain a chain of custody of drug testing samples collected at each site until delivery to the Indiana Horse Racing Commission Veterinarian.
- Obtaining payment invoices for services from each Indiana Sired Fair Circuit Veterinarian.
- Delivering drug testing samples to Indiana Horse Racing Commission Veterinarian.
- Assisting with the Indiana Sired Fair Circuit Racing Program at Indiana's County and State Fairs. This entails:
- Collecting and transporting, to and from, saddle pads used for races at each Indiana Sired Fair Circuit host site.
- Maintaining point standings for horses competing in the Indiana Sired Fair Circuit Program.
- Assisting with additional projects as assigned by the Director of Racing & Breed Development.
Pay: $11.48/Hour
Hours: Full Time (37.5 Hours/Week)
