1. TA Positions for ANSC 102

Want to TA ANSC 10200, Introduction to Animal Sciences in the Fall, 2013? We are seeking five enthusiastic students who enjoy interacting with freshmen students and are professional enough to represent Purdue Animal Sciences well.

You must have a two hour block of time on Friday to conduct one of the five laboratory sections of 40 students. The labs meet in ASTL at 7:30-9:20, 9:30-11:20, 11:30-1:20, 1:30-3:20, and 3:30–5:20. You will be responsible for meeting once per week with the course leadership team, writing and grading the weekly quiz, conducting the weekly lab, maintaining the grades and attendance records, and being a resource and coordinator for your section.

This will consume about five hours most weeks and can be remunerated with ANSC 49300 credit or payment. Please submit by April 8 a letter of application stating your motivation, strengths, and availability to serve in this role along with a current resume to Dawn Gulik at dstaub@purdue.edu in POUL 112 or Dr. Mark Russell mrussell@purdue.edu. Positions will be announced by April 22.

This is the pinnacle of educational initiatives for industry professionals and the academic community. 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games
In 536 days, the 'Olympics' for equine athletes will take place in Normandy, France. The Alltech Games will highlight horses performing at their peak in a variety of competitions, and will also feature the relevance of agriculture on the world's stage. 4. Murphy-Brown Summer Research Internship Program (Swine)

Murphy-Brown, LLC is offering a swine research project management program for Animal Science undergraduates interested in applied swine research. The objective of this program is to allow students to gain experience in the swine industry for career development. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the research data collection and participate in all on-going research projects at Murphy-Brown.

Leadership Development

1. Wild About Horses Volunteer Opportunity

Every year, Wild About Horses is pleased to work with a few local schools in effort to allow special needs children to participate in riding lessons. In order to make this happen, they are in need of volunteers to help with leading horses, playing games with children on horseback, and supporting some children in the saddle. They are looking for volunteers on the following Fridays.

Volunteers that will saddle up and lead horses need to get there 30 minutes early, and volunteers that are walkers need to get there 15 minutes early.

Woodland Elementary (Class rides 10:30 AM-12:15 PM)
They need 4 volunteers to saddle up and lead horses and 4 as walkers

Clinton Prairie Elementary (Class rides 9:30 AM-10:30 AM)
They need 3 volunteers to saddle up and lead horses and 3 as walkers

Wea Ridge Middle School (Class rides 9:45 AM-11:45 AM)
They need 4 volunteers to saddle up and lead horses and 4 as walkers
