1. Hunter Feed Mill Management Trainee

We are a specialized feed manufacturer. Our 58,000 sq ft plant manufacturer's texturized, pelleted, and mineral/premix feeds. The Feed Mill Manager is responsible for livestock feed production and the day-to-day operations of the feed mill.

Job Description: The manager is responsible for manufacturing feed, quality control, shipping and receiving, inventory control, customer service, and equipment/plant maintenance. The Manager is involved with scheduling and also works with outside contractors for repair and maintenance tasks.

Location: Brookston, IN

Requirements:

Trainee will have a probationary period of 90 days before being moved to position of manager

Hours: Monday-Friday; off weekends and holidays

Benefits: $14-16/hour (dependent on experience level) plus benefits after training period; weekly overtime

1. College of Veterinary Medicine/ School of Nursing Research

DO YOU OWN A DOG?

Researchers in the School of Nursing and College of Veterinary Medicine are looking for dog owners to volunteer for a three month e-mail based intervention study to assess dog walking. Follow-up measures will occur at three, six, and twelve months.

Benefits: Participants will receive a free health screening at the start and end of the study. In addition, at the start of the study, a free screening will be provided for the dog.

2. Canine Playgroup Monitor

Klondike Canine Academy and Recreation & Sports Park (the behavior and training branch of Clair Animal Clinic & Klondike Kennels) is hiring for the position of Playgroup Monitor. This person monitors the off-leash Canine Playgroup sessions which take place in their Canine Recreation & Sports Park (dog park).

1. Hunter Nutrition Summer Feed Mill Worker

Student Feed Mill workers work part-time during the school year and can also (if desired) work full-time during breaks and summer. The Feed Mill will train you for the job. Hunter Nutrition is a specialized feed manufacturer. Our 58,000 sq ft plant manufacturer's texturized, pelleted, and mineral/premix feeds. We are located just north of West Lafayette in Brookston, Indiana.

Hours: 7AM-5:30 PM Monday-Friday; off most weekends and holidays (full-time in summer and shifts between these times during the school year); There is a probationary period.

2. Tyner Pond Farm

Job Description: Tyner Farm is offering their very first summer internship opportunity, where 1 or 2 interns will be able to spend the summer on their farm learning the old-fashioned ways of properly caring for animals. The interns will live and work on their farm working with grass-fed pasture-raised beef, chickens, and swine. From the preparation and maintenance of their pastures to the rotational grazing, they follow the Joel Salatin method of farming.

Location: Greenfield, IN

Duration: April- October (minimum length of stay is 3 months)

Benefits: $400/month, private or shared room in a newly built barn loft on the farm, and limited quantities of beef, chicken, and pork from their herd as well as eggs if available
