1. Belstra Assistant Site Manager (Iroquois Valley Swine Breeders, LLC)

Belstra Milling Co. and The Belstra Group Farms, a feed manufacturing company and pig production company, are looking for a well-educated, qualified individual to fill an open position at Iroquois Valley Swine Breeders, LLC. This position at IVSB plays a pivotal role in the management, production strategy, and daily supervision of an 1100 sow farrow to finish multiplication site. As an assistant site manager, the selected individual will help support the senior manager in all areas of production. The position requires efficient and organized oversight of activities in breeding, farrowing, and finishing areas. In addition, the selected individual will need leadership and communication skills to help supervise 6-8 employees.

This assistant site manager position at Max-L plays a pivotal role in the management, maintenance, and daily supervision of a 2000 sow farrow to finish multiplication site. As an assistant site manager, the selected individual will help support the senior manager in all areas of production. The position requires efficient and organized oversight of activities and maintenance in breeding, farrowing, and finishing areas. In addition, the selected individual will need leadership and communication skills to help supervise 8-10 employees. The qualifications and benefits are the same as the Assistant Site Manager above at Iroquois Valley Swine Breeders, LLC.


3. Belstra Assistant Site Manager (Hopkins Ridge Farms, LLC)

This assistant site manager position at Hopkins Ridge plays a pivotal role in the management, maintenance, and daily supervision of a 1300 sow farrow to finish multiplication site. As an assistant site manager, the selected individual will help support the senior manager in all areas of production. The position requires efficient and organized oversight of activities and maintenance specifically in breeding and farrowing areas. In addition, the selected individual will need leadership and communication skills to help supervise 8-10 employees. 4. Boar Stud Site Manager

The Maschhoffs is looking for a boar stud manager to be based around Bethany, MO (they will pay for relocation to the area). The primary responsibility of the Site Manager is to oversee the welfare, care, and day-to-day management for their people and animals and to ensure that accurate semen orders are delivered to customers on time.

5. Elanco Research Scientist

Elanco, a global research-based company that develops and delivers product and services to enhance animal health and production, is looking to fill another research scientist position. This role contributes to the development for New Animal Health Products through proof of concept (POC) studies, molecule (ME), and product line extensions (PLE) across food and companion animal species by planning, coordinating, implementing, and reporting pilot and pivotal studies in compliance with global regulatory standards and guidelines. This role will achieve the planning, coordination, implementation, and reporting through authoring protocols, selecting and providing oversight of CROs and conduction key study functions for GLP, GMP, and GXP study protocols. The individual in this role is expected to perform leadership responsibilities across the food and companion animal business unites in the US Affiliate to deliver meaningful innovation for US customers.

Part-time Positions


1. Animal Behavior Research Assistant Positions

Jacqueline Lynch, a graduate student in Purdue's Biology Department, is seeking responsible, independent students interested in animal behavior research to assist her this fall and possibly into the spring semester. Her project looks at vocal communication in the Carolina Chickadee and how it is affected by differences in habitat. She is looking for students that would be interested in learning how to collect data for a field study of vocal communication. There will also be an opportunity to learn how to identify song/call types and various other techniques involved with song analysis. Off-campus travel is involved, so a car is required. If interested, please contact her at lynchjr@purdue.edu and they can set up a time to meet and discuss the details of the project and your responsibilities.


2. Horse Care Help

Nancy Mayo-Miller (phone number: 765-325-9227) is looking for student help. Her husband has had surgery and is unable to help with taking care of their horses. She lives about 9-10 miles off of the Thorntown Exit (off I65). She is willing to pay, but didn't indicate how much for this help. Please contact her if you are interested in helping.

Belstra Milling Co., Legacy Farms, LLC and Fair Oaks Farms provide an innovative internship program for college students at the Agri-Tourism business, Fair Oaks Farms, in Northwest Indiana (located between Indianapolis and Chicago). Internships are open to all majors.
