1. Columbian Park Zoo Education Internships

Columbian Park Zoo is now accepting spring 2014 applications! They are looking for energetic students to assist the Education Department with camps and classes throughout the year. Have a passion for teaching? They work to provide an opportunity for students to gain practical experience through lesson planning, office management, interpretation and interactive animal presentations. Looking to develop marketable skills? Assist zoo staff and gain experience in a number of areas, all while building solid skills that will aid in your professional development. Internships are available in the spring, summer, and fall of every year. Choose the time that works for you and apply today!

2. KEMI Internship Opportunities

The Kentucky Equine Management Internship (KEMI) program is now accepting applications for their Spring 2014 and Fall 2014 internship programs. During the 22 week internships, interns live and work on Central Kentucky Thoroughbred horse farms.

Benefits: Housing and an hourly stipend are provided

Spring Session (January 13, 2014 - June 13, 2014): Interns learn about equine reproduction by working with broodmares and foals. These interns also attend weekly seminars and also are provided with networking opportunities.

Fall Session (July 13, 2014 - December 12, 2014): Interns work with sales weanlings, yearlings, and broodmares and some interns with exceptional riding skills will assist in the breaking and early training of yearlings. In addition to the hands-on work with the horses, the interns attend weekly educational seminars and are given multiple opportunities to network with industry professionals.

3. Midwest Poultry Consortium Internship/Scholarship

The Center of Excellence Scholarship/Internship Program, being offered by the Midwest Poultry Consortium, offers strong research-based poultry science education in a welcoming, friendly environment. Faculty and industry members throughout our participating states collaborate to provide students with a unique educational experience and employment opportunities. Courses are taught at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with credits transferring to the student's home university.
The Center of Excellence offers 18 poultry science credits in two 6-week summer sessions. Problem solving and laboratory training is integrated with industry field trips to complement interactive lectures and discussions. This series of courses can combine with a number of majors from your home university to expand opportunities for a rewarding career in the poultry industry.
