2. Research Lab Assistant Opportunity

A research technician in the Biology Department is working in a research lab that studies the visual system of many different bird species and needs some help. She is currently looking for 3-5 students who would like to help in answering a physiology related questions this semester in applied avian visual ecology. The species that she is interested in are commonly involved in collisions with moving objects (aircraft, wind turbines, vehicles, etc.), and she is measuring multiple aspects of their visual system. Currently, she is measuring visual evoked potentials from different bird species to help answer the question how well birds can detect moving objects.

4. American Feed Industry Association Internship

5. Ponies and Kids (PAK) Program Internship

Ponies and Kids, a non-profit professional equine facility, is looking for interns to assist with the program, barn maintenance, and summer camp volunteers. PAK is a community organization that aims to help youths develop physically, emotionally, and socially through horseback riding and horse care. This internship can lead to potential future employment, community contacts, and may qualify for class credit for certain departments.

Hours: work a minimum of 10 hours/week

6. Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates in Integrative Biosciences

Tuskegee University will again serve as an REU Site with a program in Integrative Biosciences. This NSF supported program provides undergraduates with an opportunity to perform independent research under the guidance of a faculty mentor in a variety of life and natural science fields, including biology, chemistry, animal science, plant science, soils sciences, environmental sciences, and more- all with an emphasis on Bioinformatics.

Benefits: $5,000 salary, travel assistance (up to $300), and complimentary housing in a Tuskegee University dorm as well as meals
