2. Masters or PhD Student Opportunity

An opportunity is available for a MS student preferrably or a PhD to start on a project focused on developing weight estimation equations for draft horses and warmbloods. The student could also pick a forage-related project to work on as well. The position is a fully funded research assistantship (salary, fringe, and tuition).

Club Callouts


1. Callout for Foal Watch Team

There is an upcoming callout for participation in the Foal Watch Team. Foal watch is run through the vet school and is a great opportunity for undergraduates to spend some time in the Large Animal Hospital and meet some of the techs and students. If you chose to participate, you will be scheduled to be on call for specific shits, and asked to come in if a sick foal should need monitoring during this time (after hours or on weekends). Anyone who is interested is encouraged to come to the informational meeting, where Dr. Taylor will talk about what exactly Foal Team is and answer any questions. We will also go over volunteer paperwork that is required for participation. Anyone is welcome to participate, but students who are considering veterinary school are especially enouraged to take advantage of this opportunity If you cannot attend the meeting, but would like to participate, send me an email, and I will get you information you need.

Leadership Development


1. North American Regional Meeting of the International Society for Applied Ethology

This meeting is a great event to either present some preliminary data you may have collected during an internship or class project or to simply network with researchers and professionals in the field of applied animal behavior. The registration and lodging fees have been kept very low so that undergraduate and graduate students can attend.
