Hours of Class: Mondays: 6:30 - 7:45 p.m.
Tuesdays: 2:00 - 3:15 p.m.

Hours I am in SAG 106 (ANSC 101) class:
Mondays: 5:00 - 5:15 p.m.
AND Tuesdays 12:30 - 1:45 p.m.

Hours available for consultation: I'm not here long and am in class much of the time I'm in Vincennes; don't use it for an excuse not to contact me.. I'll arrive in Vincennes before class; look for me by 4:30. I can meet with you by arrangement after 7:45 (I'll need to get dinner sometime, however), or Tuesday morning. I'll be in the building and probably in the office between 9:30 a.m. to noon, then will get lunch before our class. Available between classes or after our last class, if I know you wish to see me.

EMAIL is probably the best means of communication. If you need help or just want to send me a message about attending class, email me at dforsyth@purdue.edu.

Quizzes and Exams:
There will be a quiz, an exam or a homework exercise every week after the first week. You will be allowed to drop the lowest quiz (or quiz missed). There will be 2 hourly exams during the semester and a comprehensive final.

Grading: Exams = 200 points
Quizzes and homework = 200 points.
Final Exam = 200 points

Total = 600 points.

A = 90 - 100 %
B = 80 - 89.9 %
C = 70 - 79.9 %
D = 60 - 69.9 %
F = <60 %

The above grades are guarantees. Scores will be curved to relax the standard only at the instructor's discretion.

Class text: Pond, Church & Pond, 1995 (An older addition may be used) Basic Animal Nutrition and Feeding, 4th edition, John Wiley & Sons, Publisher. This text is optional this year. Take excellent notes if you don’t have the text.

Expectations:
There will be no cheating. I will make efforts to help avoid cheating but you are personally responsible for maintaining integrity. I do not expect problems, but if they occur they will be dealt with according to the severity, a zero grade for the quiz, exam or course, expulsion from the course or from the school. Let's not experience any difficulties with cheating. Copying from another during quizzes or exams is considered cheating, as is copying homework.

No tobacco use in class, of any kind.

Class attendance is important. You must have an excuse for missed classes. Missing a quiz without a valid excuse will result in a zero. Being absent when quizzes are passed back will result in a penalty. Repeated misses will result in expulsion from class. Please attend class regularly.

One of the problems we sometimes have is that we meet class just early in the week and then this class gets forgotten until the next week. To prevent that from happening this week there may be assignments that require email responses from you, or use of the world wide web (WWW). Become familier with the ansc221v website (complete url above).
