* Laboratory evaluation: All students will be scored for their ability to evaluate market animals and carcasses (muscling, yield grade, quality grade, etc.). Actual (carcass and official) data will be used to score student estimates. A point score will be given to indicate each student's final rank in the class. Students participating in each laboratory will be guaranteed 70 of the 100 laboratory score points possible.

Attendance policy: Absence from any lecture or laboratory session during which a test or evaluation points are awarded must be arranged in advance. Make-up opportunities or remission of point requirements will be provided for excused absences. Make-up opportunities or remission of point requirements will not be provided for unexcused absences especially in laboratory.

Academic honesty: Student collaboration on any test or graded laboratory exercise is considered to be academic dishonesty. Violations will result in loss of credit by both the transmitter and receiver of information.

** Unannounced quizzes: Quizzes, covering suggested readings or material previously covered in lecture, may be given during the first 5 minutes of lecture.

In the event of a major campus emergency, course requirements, deadlines and grading percentages are subject to changes that may be necessitated by a revised semester calendar or other circumstances.
