Management
As described in the Facilities page, the goats are kept on subdivisions of an 8 acre pasture. They graze .25 to .33 acres at a time, and are moved to a new paddock every 5 to 7 days. The goats are fed on soy hulls and Land O' Lakes goat mineral mix. The mineral feeder is available to the goats at all times, and is refilled as is needed. The goats are fed soy hulls daily as a supplement to the forage in their pasture. The diet of the goats is described more thoroughly on the Nutrition page.
The project is a cooperative effort between Purdue University and the University of Kentucky. |
