What is Block and Bridle?

Block and Bridle is a livestock option club concerned mainly with cattle, horses, swine, and sheep.

First formed in 1917 as the Hoof and Horn Club, we became members of the National Organization of Block and Bridle in 1956, and officially changed our name to the Purdue University Chapter of Block and Bridle in the same year.

Any Purdue student may join, regardless of major or background. The goal of our organization is to provide Purdue students with an opportunity to improve their leadership skills and to gain greater exposure to the livestock industry.

Block and Bridle also gives students the opportunity to develop friendships and connections in the livestock industry that will last into their professional careers
